Hormone paste (Keiki Paste)

Keiki paste may be a cytokinin hormone which induces growth within the node of a Phalaenopsis inflorescence. It shouldn't be confused with paste or powder containing auxins, which are wont to force the assembly of roots.

Plant hormones like KeikiGrow Plus are often applied to a node on the bloom stem or base to stimulate the expansion of a keiki and KeikiRoot are often applied to stimulate root production. This product also works to stimulate nodes on bulbs of sympodial orchids to make new lead growths.

Prepare a rooting tray with a layer of pebbles, sphagnum or bark. Soak the moss or bark in water until completely wet; then allow the water to empty from the medium. Spread the medium in a good layer within the tray. Place the stem cuttings on top of the medium and mist with water
